Sport is the reason cord-cutting stalls. The shows are all on streaming apps; the games are scattered across cable, league passes and regional networks that are hard to get and expensive when you do.

The line-up carries NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college football and basketball, UFC, boxing, F1, golf and tennis, plus the major pay-per-view events. One honest caveat: regional sports networks are the hardest part of any line-up, here and everywhere. If your team sits behind an RSN, check that specific channel during the trial before you pay for a year.

What your connection needs to be

IPTV is only as good as the connection under it. In practical terms:

• 10 Mbps — fine for HD on one screen.
• 25 Mbps — comfortable for 4K on one screen.
• 50 Mbps+ — two or three screens at once without thinking about it.

Stability matters more than headline speed. A 200 Mbps connection that drops packets at 8pm will buffer where a steady 30 Mbps line will not, and Wi-Fi across a house is the single most common cause of a picture that stutters. Ethernet to the TV, where you can, solves more problems than any setting in the app.

Devices that work in a typical American living room

Firestick and Fire TV, Android TV boxes, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, Windows and Mac, MAG and Enigma2 boxes. If it streams, it almost certainly works.
