Why a Smart TV is different

On a Firestick or an Android box you can install whichever player you like. A Samsung or LG television is a closed system: you get the apps in its own store and nothing else. The usual IPTV players are not in those stores, so the route is different.

What is there instead: Smart IPTV, IBO Player and a handful of similar apps, all of which work the same way — you install the app, it shows you a MAC address, you register your playlist against that address on the app maker's website. Most charge a small one-off activation fee (around $6) to the app maker. That fee is theirs, not ours, and it is not part of your subscription.

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS), step by step

1. Open your TV's app store and install Smart IPTV or IBO Player.
2. Open it. Write down the MAC address it shows on screen.
3. On a phone or computer, go to that app's own website and enter the MAC address with the m3u link we emailed you.
4. Pay the app's one-off activation fee if it asks.
5. Restart the app on the TV. The channel list loads.

If the list does not appear, it is nearly always one of two things: the MAC address was typed wrong, or the m3u link was pasted with a space at one end.

When the TV is the wrong device

Older smart TVs — roughly pre-2018 — often have too little memory to hold a 25,000-channel list and a full guide. The symptom is an app that takes a minute to open, or crashes when you scroll.
