IPTV Smarters setup: every device, step by step

Before you start

You need two things: the app, and the login details from your activation email. The details come in one of two shapes — Xtream Codes (a username, a password and a server address) or an m3u link (one long web address). Xtream Codes is easier to type on a remote and gives you the TV guide automatically, so use that one if you have both.

Installing it

• iPhone, iPad, Apple TV: App Store → search IPTV Smarters Pro → install.
• Android phone, tablet or TV box: Play Store → same search.
• Firestick: it is not in Amazon's store — install it through Downloader, as described in the Firestick guide.
• Windows or Mac: download the desktop build from the app maker's own site.

Signing in

1. Open the app and accept the terms it shows on first launch.
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
3. Any name — call it Streamly4K; it is only a label on your own device.
4. Enter the username, password and server URL from your email, exactly as written. Copy and paste where you can — a capital letter typed as lower case is the single most common mistake.
5. Press Add User. Give it a minute to pull the channel list and the guide.

You should land on a menu with Live TV, Movies and Series. If the guide is still blank after a few minutes, close the app fully and reopen it — the EPG loads in the background on first run.

Settings worth changing straight away

• Favourites. Star your six channels. A 25,000-channel list is unusable otherwise.
• Player. If a stream stutters, switch the decoder between hardware and software in the app's settings — it fixes a surprising share of playback problems.
• Auto-start. Have it open on boot, so the TV lands where you want it.
